What is Hamptons style? The Hamptons is a string of seaside villages on the East Coast of the USA. Known as a summer destination for the rich and fabulous, the coast line is dotted with long stretches of pristine beaches and 18th Century estates and cottages.
What colours are typical to Hamptons style? Whites, neutrals, yellow and green are all common colours to Hamptons style interiors. Pair with warm neutral colours with coastal blues, or layering various shades of blue, from navy through to baby blue.
Hamptons homes are regularly found on the seaside and are fashioned to match the beachy feel. The style is welcoming and encourages indoor-outdoor living, entertaining and relaxing. Modern Hamptons homes are showered in a lot of light because they generally have large windows bordering the walls of the home.
The traditional Hamptons look is classic, breezy and spacious, with large windows and French doors letting in abundant natural light. Extensive verandahs create the easy indoor-outdoor flow for gracious holiday entertaining that the original Hamptons beach houses were known for.
